Figs and dragon fruits

What did I tell you? Dragon fruits are super expensive here. None on the throwaway rack today. Have to be patient with all the rest of the aunties cause no Asian will be crazy enough to buy dragon fruit at these prices and ang mo don't know how to eat it.
However I manage to get some organic figs at the farmer's market. I never see a fresh one until I came to Australia.
Uncle introduced this to me and it's one of my favorite autumn food. It's not easy to buy good figs because they are harvest and ripen in storage. Uncle said figs taste best when they ripen on the tree. For some reason if figs ripen off the trees they don't developed the sweetness. Go figure...
I only bought these figs because the farmer said he just plucked them off today. He did not lie. They were super sweet and yummy.
Figs are actually 'mo fa guo'. The dried ones are common in MY/SG
